FliQ FPLC Columns
We offer both empty (FliQ) and pre-packed (HiFliQ) FPLC chromatography columns suitable for protein purification. We also provide a custom column packing service, where we can pack any 3rd party resin into our column formats (1 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml, 20 ml, 50 ml and larger).
The Proteus FliQ FPLC Columns are suitable for 1 to 10 ml resin volume and offer a simple packing procedure. They can be packed with any Protein Ark loose resin or any available resin on the market. The Universal 10-32 UNF thread is compatible with all standard chromatography instruments (including the AKTA systems from GE Healthcare and the Bio-Rad NGC system).
The pre-packed Proteus 1 ml and 5 ml HiFliQ FPLC Affinity Columns are designed for easy purification of recombinant proteins and antibodies. The very high-performance resins e.g. Heparin, Ni-NTA agarose, Co-NTA agarose, Glutatione Agarose, Protein A Agarose and Protein G Agarose deliver reliable and robust separation every time.
We’ve added to our range of pre-packed sizes to include 10 ml, 20 ml and 50 ml columns; suitable for lab-based scale-up experiments. All of our pre-packed HiFliQ FPLC columns are compatible with all standard chromatography instruments (including the AKTA systems from GE Healthcare and the Bio-Rad NGC system).
Size Exclusion Columns
Protein Ark’s ProteoSEC Dynamic Size Exclusion Columns (SEC) utilise a high performance rigid resin derived from a co-polymer of Dextran and Agarose. We offer 3 different column sizes: 11/30, 16/60 and 26/60 columns with Superdex™ S75 pg and Superdex™ S200 pg behaviour.
Our ‘6-600’ HR acrylic columns have a protein separation range within 6 kDa to 600 kDa and the ‘3-70’ HR acrylic columns have a protein separation range within 3 kDa to 70 kDa. Both these HR acrylic columns are ideal for high-definition preparative protein polishing steps using all aqueous buffers, at room temperature and in the cold room.
Batch Incubation Spin Columns
Proteus ‘1-Step Batch’ Mini Spin Columns are ideal for small scale protein purifications (expression trials, solubility determination tests, screening, titering and scouting studies). Just add your protein sample and resin of choice and the SelfSeal™ membrane technology retains both the resin and sample in the batch incubation chamber while binding. Upon centrifuging the pores of the SelfSeal™ membrane open allowing the sample to be eluted yet retraining the resin bead for perfect separation and recovery. Suitable for sample volumes up to 0.6 ml.
For larger sample volumes of up to 20 ml, try our ‘1-Step Batch’ Midi Plus Spin Columns. This range enables customers to batch mix their filtered and clarified sample with their resin of choice, and then wash and elute the purified, concentrated protein in small volumes. Benefits include: no resin carry-over to downstream analyses, negligible hold-up volume and no requirement to transfer samples/resin slurries.

Proteus Pre-packed Spin Column Kits
Suitable for sample volumes up to 650 µl, the Proteus Mini Purification Spin Columns are suitable for small scale protein purifications (expression trials, solubility determination tests, screening, tittering and scouting studies) and fit all standard microcentrifuges.
Protein Ark also offers convenient single step columns that enable multiple samples to be purified in parallel with high reproducibility and rapid purification of antibodies or 6xHis-tagged recombinant proteins. The unique flow regulator controls flow rate during centrifugation (close to 1 ml/min).
